It is opportunity to give new direction to roadmap of development

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has told officers of Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service that they have been given opportunity to give a new direction to Madhya Pradesh’s roadmap for development. They should suggest short-term and long-term ways for relief to farmers during this unprecedented crisis. Shri Chouhan was addressing a meeting of officers here today.

The Chief Minister said that every officer should visit minimum 9 villages of 2 blocks in 3 days. They should hold discussions with farmers at Chaupal about present crop situation and implementation of government schemes and file report thereof. The brief report in prescribed proforma should contain village-wise consolidated information. He said that soybean crops have suffered loss for last some years. He is deeply moved by farmers’ plight. Special measures should be undertaken to remove difficulties of farmers. He said that it is the time to do something out of the league to help farmers. He hoped that officers will liberally use their capacity and discretion in this regard. It is a new experiment to help farmers break vicious circle of poverty. He asked officers also to review mid-day meal food etc. during their visits to villages.

Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa briefed the officers about works to be undertaken during visits. DGP Shri Surendra Sinh, Principal Secretary Forests Shri Deepak Khandekar and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Narendra Kumar also attended the meeting.
