International Womens Day to be celebrated on theme “One Decade of Womens Empowerment”
Bhopal : This year, International Women’s Day will be unique for state’s women. Women & Child Development Department has launched a campaign for people to wear pink clothes on International Women’s Day – March 8 to show positives thinking towards women. A Special programme will be held everyday in entire state.
Programmes on the theme ‘One Decade of Women’s Empowerment’ will be held throughout the state from March 8 to 15. On March 8, practical information would be given to women about schemes for their economic empowerment. Special Gram Sabhas will be held in 52 thousand villages. The same day special women’s public hearings and Nari Shakti Chaupals will be held. On March 9, women will be taken to visit of police stations to apprise them of effectives ways to deal with violence against them. They would also be given information about filing FIR.
On March 10, women will be taken on visit to district courts to apprise about judicial procedure in cases of crimes against them. Women’s Job Fairs will be held March 11 to given them employment-related information.
On March 12, women will be taken on visit of banks and post offices. They would be informed about opening account and FD, loan eligibility, gold loan, Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi, NSC etc.
Special health camps will be held on March 14 where examination of diabetes, blood pressure, CVC, eyesight, weight etc will be made. Women will also be informed about balanced diet, low-cost and easily available food stuffs and their nutritious worth. Women will be taken on visit to de-addiction centres on March 15. They would be informed about methods for de-addiction of liquor, smoking, gutkha-tobacco, gambling etc. Woman-centric films will also be screened.
