Instill moral values in school students : Governor

Bhopal: Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav has urged educational institutions to instill high ideals and moral values in students. He was addressing silver jubilee function of Sharda Vidya Mandir here today. Shri Yadav said that teaching is process of nation building. The objective of imparting knowledge is not mere development of ability and skills among students, but their character building also. Shri Yadav said that such teaching arrangements should be made in schools, which are an ideal mix of traditional and modern knowledge. He said that we should not ignore Indian culture and traditions while promoting technical development.
Earlier, Governor Shri Yadav inspected a parade and took salute of march-past. Shri Yadav declared sports meet open by lighting a torch.
Governor Shri Yadav said that the light of knowledge as per Indian traditions and beliefs dispels darkness of illiteracy. Knowledge is the basis of human existence. He urged students to work towards welfare of entire humanity besides their individual personality development. Governor Shri Yadav released school magazine “Sankalp”. He also felicitated school’s 12 teachers and staff members for their dedicated and outstanding services.
Institution’s Chairman Shri Vinay Yadav delivered the welcome address. Earlier, former GDP and school’s patron Shri M. Nararajan and director Smt. Savitri Natarajan welcomed the Governor. At the outset, Marathi folk dance Gondhal was performed. Physical exercises presented by gymnastics team were lauded by the audience. Smt. Savita Natarajan read out school’s annual report.
