Innovations Under Livelihood Mission being Adopted by other States

Bhopal. Taking into account the successful implementation and achievements of Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihood Mission, innovations under the mission are being adopted by other states. Bank Sakhi Yojna was applauded during the presentation in workshop at New Delhi and was recommended to other states. This yojna was also lauded in the training camp of state level trainers held at Rashtriya Gramin Vikas evem Panchayat Raj Sansthan, Hyderabad.

It is to be highlighted that through organize women and trained them and families of group members the opportunities have been provided for self employment and skill based employment by the mission. This was also applauded by the Chief Minister Shri Shivaraj Singh Chouhan during the visit of Shahdol.

Under the Bank Sakhi Yojna, literate women of the villages have been authorised for banking procedure. Bank accounts were opened by visiting villages to villages. Also commission was given for this activity. Encouragement amount was also provided to them due to their good work by the banks. Now Livelihood mission has geared up to field around 500 women as banking correspondents in the state. Banking correspondents are deployed in 158 villages of Badwani, Rajgarh and Alirajpur in order to help group members to get rid of running around for banking activities. This will give pace to the financial inclusion besides progress in the livelihood of women.

It may be mentioned that the Livelihood Mission was started in April 2012 in the state. Powerful Self help groups belonging to poor families of rural areas are being made under the mission in order to improve their organizational development besides providing opportunities for their livelihood.
