Jio has changed name of GigaFiber broadband to JioFiber but why?

At the 42nd Reliance AGM event, Jio commercially announced its broadband and set-top box services under the JioFiber tag. We have known the service so far as Jio GigaFiber and there could be a few reasons as to why Jio did this

Just a few hours have passed since Reliance announced the commercial rollout of its broadband and TV service. Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani announced all the smart home and IoT-based services from Jio and also announced the launch date for its broadband service GigaFiber. Apart from the GigaFiber, Jio also announced its TV service as well as its fixed-line call service. However, while announcing the prices and the features for these, Jio also changed the name of the service and its no more called GigaFiber. In fact, all the services that Jio announced today don’t have the prefix ‘Giga’ to their name. Instead, GigaFiber, which has been available under the Preview offer for almost a year now, has now been renamed to JioFiber. In fact, all the other services announced today will be available under JioFiber and plans will include varying subscription to these services. For starters, Ambani said that JioFiber plans will range between Rs 700 and Rs 10,000 per month. The prices of the annual plans haven’t been mentioned yet. All these plans will be known as JioFiber plans and under these, subscribers can choose the quality and quantity of each of them. It’s similar to all the Jio prepaid plans where the more you pay, the more data you get along with varying validity. All JioFiber plans will offer different levels of data, speed, set-top box plans and international calling plans. Most of these plans will be unveiled after September 5 when the commercial service goes live.JioFiber will primarily consist of the broadband service and it will offer as standard the Wi-Fi router. Based on information from the GigaFiber Preview offer, subscribers should also get a complimentary connection to Jio Home Phone (Jio’s landline service). However, Jio hasn’t explained these things clearly and we could only whether the base plan of Rs 700 per month will offer the call service as standard or not. The Jio Set-Top box is key to the smart home entertainment experience. Jio didn’t announce the price of the set-top box and hence, we can only how much it costs until the service is launched after September 5. Given that the set-top box is almost an entertainment console, it could be priced quite high and customers will have to purchase it separately. Jio also hasn’t said whether the set-top box runs on Android or any other platform. On top of that, there’s Jio Home Phone which is essentially Jio’s fixed-line calling service, or simply Jio’s landline service. The Jio Home Phone will come with unlimited calling but mostly, subscribers will have to buy a landline telephone set in order to avail the service. The Home Phone will only allow voice calls and in order to make the video calls, the set-top box is required along with an additional camera.
Main question: Why is it called JioFiber and not Jio GigaFiber?
We don’t know the exact reason but it seems that Jio wanted to simplify the entire naming convention of the service. The broadband, TV and landline service rely on Jio’s fiber network and hence, selling a subscription to the entire package makes more sense than anything else. It is similar to upgrading a computer – you have a base computer and you can upgrade the graphics card if you want to play games or upgrade the monitor if you want to watch movies. The fiber network will host the broadband service and if subscribers want the TV service, they can simply purchase the set-top box – no more additional connection required. The set-top box will rely on the same connection as the broadband service. Even the Jio Home Phone landline connection will rely on the same fiber network. All these services will rely on data from the fiber network and hence, the entire service is called JioFiber.
