New Industrial town to be established between Indore and Bhopal

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid the foundation stone for Namkeen and Pharma clusters in the industrial area on Sanwer Road here today. On the occasion, he also laid foundation stone for Rs. 169 works to be undertaken in industrial areas at Polo Ground, Sanwer Road in Indore and Pithampur. The works include construction of roads, culverts and bridges and other basic infrastructural works. Commerce & Industries Minister Shri Kailash Vijaywargiya presided over the function.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that earlier, Madhya Pradesh was regarded as a sick state. At that time, investment in the state was meaningless. Now, this situation has changed completely. The State Government had set a target of 7.5 percent growth during the 11th Five-Year Plan against which 10 percent growth rate was achieved. Under the 12th Five-Year Plan, a target has been set to achieve 12 percent growth rate. Agricultural growth rate of the state is 18 percent at present. Area under irrigation in the state has been increased to 21 lakh hectares from 7 lakh hectares.

Water of Narmada will soon meet the Kshipra River. He said that the third Global Investors Summit has been focused on employment. Besides big industries, attention is also being paid on small industries. In all, 27 industrial areas are being developed in the state. Infrastructural development works to the tune of Rs. 700 crore will be done in these areas. Small industries will also benefit from these industrial areas.

Commerce & Industries Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that establishment of Namkeen and Pharma clusters will give a new dimension to the state’s industrial development. Shri Vijaywargiya said that about Rs. 150 crore is proposed to be invested in Namkeen Cluster. He said that Indore’s Namkeen (salty snacks) is famous all over the country. After establishment of this cluster, Indore’s Namkeen will carve out a place on the world map. Earlier, Madhya Pradesh was at the 27th place in investment. Now, it has jumped to the third place in the country.

Namkeen Cluster Chairman Shri Ram Prasad Sharma expressed gratitude towards the State Government and specially the Chief Minister for the cluster’s establishment.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also laid foundation stones for infrastructural development works to be undertaken in Polo Ground and Pithampur industrial areas. These funds will be spent on construction roads, drains, culverts and bridges in these areas.

Mayor Shri Krishna Murari Moghe, MLAs Shri Sudarshan Gupta and Smt. Malini Gaur, Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Shri Govind Maloo, Additional Chief Secretary Shri P.K. Das, Indore divisional commissioner Shri Prabhat Parashar, IG Smt. Anuradha Shankar, Commissioner Industries Shri R.K. Chaturvedi, TRIFAC Managing Director Shri Arun Bhatt, collector Shri Akash Tripathi, AKVN Managing Director Shri Manish Singh, Shri Shankar Lalwani and Shri Vishnu Prasad Shukla were specially present on the occasion.
