Industrial investment and cooperation in cultural, education and social sectors sought from South Korean investors

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has called upon South Korean investors for industrial investment as well as cooperation in cultural, educational and social sectors. He said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state of the country where electronic manufacturing cluster is being established for electronic and information technology sector investors of South Korea. Shri Chouhan stated this during an interactive session with South Korean investors in New Delhi today. Industries Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia, South Korean Ambassador Shri Li Yun-Gyu, proponent of Make in India Shri Amitabh Kant, Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, CII Director General Shri Chandrajeet Bannerji and Regional Director of KOTRA Shri D.S. Che were present.

The Chief Minister said that South Korea and India attained independence simultaneously and both the countries have made a mark among leading countries by dint of struggle and hard work. He said that both countries can achieve highest rate of growth with economic cooperation and investments. He said that South Korea has achieved remarkable success in information technology, automobiles and steel constructions in the world. Their expertise in these fields is needed in Madhya Pradesh. He urged South Korean companies to invest in heavy industry, automobile, chemicals, renewable energy, electronics, plastic, textiles and construction sectors in Madhya Pradesh.

The Chief Minister reminded that he had met investors of major industries and officers during his South Korea visit in year 2012. At that time, they had desired a simplified process for infrastructure development and establishment of industries and businesses. Shri Chouhan informed that an attractive industrial policy has been introduced in the state in 2014. In it, processes have been simplified and developed industrial areas have been identified for South Korean investors. He informed that along with it, country’s first electronic manufacturing cluster is also being established for South Korean investors.

The Chief Minister said that during Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s South Korea visit, investors of that country had announced to invest in India. He urged investors to come to Madhya Pradesh which has immense prospects.

South Korea is son-in-law of India

The Chief Minister said that we regard South Korean investors as our son-in-law. It is because a princess of Ayodhya Kingdom in the first century had visited South Korea and married King Kim Suro. He invited them to invest in Madhya Pradesh.
