Husband of victim shoot the rapist outside the Court

BHOPAL: Thursday an under trial accused of a robbery case was shot dead just outside the courtroom where he was to be produced.
The assailant claimed that his wife had been raped by the under trial Raju Shahnawaz (28).

The eye-witnesses said policemen who brought the accused to the court were taken aback when a man suddenly emerged in front of them, took out a country-made pistol from his bag and fired at the victim.

“Shahnawaz robbed my house and raped my wife. I reported the robbery to police but could not speak of the rape for fear of becoming a social outcast. I had to avenge the rape,” Vinod Rajput the assailant then screamed before the shocked crowd.

Yogesh Choudhary Senior superintendent of police Bhopal said the robbery happened in January. Raju and his accomplices Nadeem Kala and Nadeem Gora intruded into Rajput’s house and made off with cash and jewellery.
He said, “A case was registered and they were arrested three months ago.”

The three men were booked under sections 458 (house-breaking) and 380 (theft) and remanded in police custody.

“Rajput had reported the case to the police, but didn’t mention about his wife’s rape,” said SSP Bhopal.
