Hold health camps in each district for treatment of serious diseases

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Free Medicine Distribution Scheme is an important scheme for the welfare of poor people. It should be implemented with total transparency. Schemes should be chalked out for holding camps for treatment of people suffering from serious diseases in each district. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan was reviewing working of the Health Department here today. Health Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra and Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram were also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that constant monitoring should be done to ensure systematic implementation of Free Medicine Distribution Scheme. Health camps to be held to treat serious diseases in districts should be effectively managed. He said that cent percent vaccination of pregnant women and children should be ensured. The Chief Secretary should undertake detailed review of National Rural Health Mission. A programme should be chalked out to train members of village health committees. Shri Chouhan also directed to motivate people to adopt family welfare programme.
46 thousand 197 village health committees constituted
It was informed at the meeting that 46 thousand 197 village health committees have been constituted in the state. Medicines have been made available in adequate quantity to all the government hospitals. Sanjeevni-108 Ambulance will be made available in all the districts from December 25. Under the scheme, 500 additional ambulances will be made available. Dialysis centres will be established in all the districts till March-end. A campaign is underway to fill up vacancies in the Health Department under which 1400 posts of doctor, 2000 of nurse and 200 posts of paramedical staff will be filled up. A system has been evolved for tracking and verifying time-bound services extended to women and children. At the meeting, various health programmes were reviewed. Principal Secretary Health Shri Praveer Krishna, Commissioner Health Shri Pankaj Agrawal and departmental officers were present on the occasion.
