Higher Education Minister gives prizes to 19 young scientists at MP Young Scientists Congress

Bhopal : Contribution of science is significant in development of society and nation. Research is important in personal life. Networking with universities is necessary to increase participation of young scientists in research and studies. This was stated by Higher Education Minister Umashankar Gupta at the concluding function of 31st MP Young Scientists Congress of Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology here today. Minister Gupta gave prizes to 19 young scientists include 16 females on the conclusion of the Congress. In the Congress, young scientists read out 188 research papers on 16 subjects.

Gupta exhorted young scientists to undertake research with dedication and commitment to become partners in nation-building.

Council’s Director General Prof. Pramod K. Verma said that ambit of ‘scientific temper’ is wide. It is not confined to lab alone. He exhorted young scientists to undertake research on local subjects. Prof. Verma said that process of research is not be confined to seminars, but it is part of our daily life. He offered Council’s cooperation in making available research facilities for 6 months in any national institution to all young scientists whose research papers have been selected.

The 19 awardee young scientists include Garima Dube (agriculture science), Jitendra Bhavsar (chemical engineering), Priyanka Karoliya (chemical science), Payal Bakhshi (civil engineering), Abha Sharma (C.S. and I.T.), Vishal Gupta (E.C. engineering), Yadunandan De (Pharmaceutical science), Shruti Agrawal (environmental science), Sudha Tiwari (home science), Ankita Agrawal (life science), Jerolina Fernandez (maths science), Neetu Sharma (maths science), Pratibha Chouhan (medical science including AYUSH), Pratishtha Dwivedi (Amity Science University, Gwalior), Udita Agrawal (S.I.R.T. Bhopal), Hafsa Siddiqui (physical science), Shikha Chouhan (physical science), Shruti Gaur (veterinary science and animal husbandry) and Nirmala Gupta (Centre for Microbiology and Bio-technology Training and Research Centre, Bhopal).

Special guest Dr. A.K. Pandey, Chairman MP Private Universities Regulatory Commission also spoke on the occasion. Chief Scientists Dr. G.D. Bairagi presented report of Young Scientists Congress. Council’s Principal Chief Scientist Tasneem Habib delivered the welcome address while Senior Scientist Officer Dr. Manoj Rathore proposed a vote of thanks.
