Gandhiji’s ideals and principles give new direction to life

Bhopal: Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav has said that Mahatma Gandhi is not only hero of Indian freedom movement but also a source of inspiration for us. We can make our lives successful by following his ideals. His ideals and principles give a new direction to life. Gandhiji’s principles of truth and non-violence are the powers with which even enemies can be turned into friends. Shri Yadav was addressing a Sarvdharm Prarthna Sabha to mark 114th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi here today. On the occasion, Governor Shri Yadav also garlanded statues of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. The Governor distributed prizes to students for winning various competitions.

Governor Shri Yadav said that Satyagrah of Gandhiji was like devotion to God. Shri Yadav said that Mahatma Gandhi believed in all religions equally. He believed that every religion has virtues of truth, non-violence and love. He believed that all religions agree on the fact that only truth prevails in the world.
The Governor exhorted students to always remember three monkeys of Gandhiji apart from their studies. This will help them discriminate between good and bad, inspire to move forward in life and brighten their future. Shri Yadav said that a genuine religious person feels others’ pains and sufferings and help them.
Paying tributes to former Prime Minister late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Governor Shri Yadav said that he had brought about a new revolution in the country through his slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”. This created a new energy and enthusiasm among youths.
Secretary of Gandhi Bhavan Trust Shri Ramchandra Bhargava conducted the programme. Gandhiji’s favourite bhajans were presented on the occasion.
