Fund of Rs. 704 crore has been released for Panch Pameshwar Yojna

BHOPAL (MPINFO): The State Government of MP has released the first installment of Rs. 704 crore under Panch Parmeshwar Yojna to all the 23,010 Gram Panchayats in the state.

The funds have been made available to Gram Panchayats through concerning banks. There is a provision of making available lump sum funds to Gram Panchayats for infrastructure development of villages under Panch Parmeshwar Yojna in compliance with the provisions of State Finance Commission and 13th Finance Commission.

Through the arrangement of convergence of this scheme with MNREGA, Gram Panchayats can utilise funds to the tune of Rs. 20 lakh to 60 lakh for village development.

Rural development can be ensured now at a rapid pace with the release of lump sum funds. The maximum share of funds under Panch Parmeshwar Yojna is being provided from various heads of the State Government. These include revenues received from the State Finance Commission, mineral and stamp duties. Besides, funds received from 13th Finance Commission are also included in it.

Now, the Gram Panchayats will get consolidated funds on the basis of population during financial year.

Under the scheme, a consolidated fund of Rs. 5 lakh will be made available to Gram Panchayats with upto two thousand population, Rs. 8 lakh to Gram Panchayats with two thousand to five thousand population, Rs. 10 lakh to Gram Panchayats with five thousand to ten thousand population and Rs. 15 lakh to the Gram Panchayats with over ten thousand population.

Under the three-tier Panchayati Raj system, Janpad and Zila Panchayats separately get funds under various schemes and heads.
