Free medicine distribution scheme to be named after Sardar Patel

Rewa: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced at Rewa on Wednesday that the scheme being implemented to provide free medicines to common people will be named after Sardar Patel.
At Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel birth anniversary function at Rewa’s Government TRS College, the Chief Minister announced that lessons on Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’s life and deeds will be included in school syllabus. Shri Chouhan said that in future, age limit for applying to the State Public Service Commission will be increased from 35 to 40 years.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also appealed to people of the state to do at least one public welfare work on Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day November 1. He urged girls and women to make Maryada Abhiyan successful.
Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that justice has not been done to a the memory of number of freedom fighters. He threw light in detail on the contribution of Sardar Patel in national building and took the pledge for development of Madhya Pradesh as the state of Sardar Patel’s dreams. The Chief Minister said that 84 thousand hectare area will be irrigated through Bansagar Project this year. Industries and other units worth Rs. 4 lakh 31 thousand crore will be set up as per MoUs signed at Global Investors Summit recently. Of these, industries worth Rs. 52 thousand crore will be established in Vindhya region. Training in various trades will be imparted to youths for making jobs available to them. Rural youths will be able to establish industries and business in villages following 24-hour power supply. On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also honoured widows of martyr army personnel.
Farmers Welfare & Agriculture Development Minister Dr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria read out the letter which was written by Sardar Patel to farmers during Bardoli Movement. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla urged people to draw inspiration from works done by Iron Man Sardar Patel for unifying the country. Member of Parliament Shri Prabhat Jha said that meaningful efforts are being made in the state to project life and personality of Sardar Patel on a grand scale. Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Kurmi Samaj president Shri L.P. Singh said that a number of welfare schemes for the poor are being implemented in Madhya Pradesh.
Labour Minister Shri Jagannath Singh, Laghu Udyog Nigam Chairman Shri Akhand Pratap Singh, Seed Corporation Deputy Chairman Shri Kamleshwar Singh, Shri Govind Mishra, MLAs Shri Girish Gautam, Shri Laxman Tiwari, Shri Abhay Mishra, Shri Ram Charit, Shri Vishwamitra Pathak and Shri Ramkhilawan, Commissioner Shri Pradeep Khare, collector Shri S.S. Roopla, various people’s representatives and large number of distinguished citizens and women were present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also garlanded life-size statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel at Saman Naka.
