Fraud will not be tolerated in Ayushman Bharat scheme: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that any kind of fraud in the Ayushman Bharat scheme will not be tolerated. Better work must be done in the plan, so that patients do not face any inconvenience in getting treatment. He said that action should be taken to send those who commit fraud in the scheme to jail.

Chouhan was taking a review meeting of Ayushman Bharat Scheme at his residence office. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that any kind of fraud will not be tolerated in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Work better in the plan, so that patients do not face any inconvenience in getting treatment. He said that action should be taken to send those who commit fraud in the scheme to jail.

The Chief Minister was taking a review meeting of Ayushman Bharat Scheme at his residence office. Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Prabhuram Choudhary, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Manish Rastogi, Director National Health Mission  Priyanka Das and officials were present. Additional Chief Secretary Health Mohammad Suleman attended the meeting virtually.

Chouhan said that fraud in Ayushman Bharat scheme is intolerable. We will not allow scams in the scheme. This is a betrayal of patients and the government. Along with the arrest of scammers, their other activities must also be investigated.

The Chief Minister said that private hospitals should be checked by the Health Department by forming a team. Mukhya Mantri Swechhanudan amount will not be given to hospitals found suspicious. Call centers must remain active. Make enquiries from patients, whether they have been admitted or not. Shortcomings have come to the fore in 27 hospitals of the state, on which strict action should be taken and this should not happen in future.

Director National Health Mission, Priyanka Das said that a surprise inspection was conducted for the treatment quality of patients admitted in the affiliated hospitals in Ayushman. The number of hospitalized patients was checked. It was being checked whether the audit inspection team is not taking extra amount from the patients. It was checked whether the treatment has been provided by the hospitals according to the disease and whether the amount of the same treatment has been claimed from the government or not.

It was told that the quality care in the treatment was also tested. It was found during investigation that fake documents were submitted on the portal by some hospitals by admitting fake patients. In the implementation of all such cases, the state government FIR and appropriate legal action was taken by the inspection team. Action is being taken to disconnect all such hospitals which are misusing the scheme. Three times additional fine is being imposed in cases where patients are not given free treatment and additional amount is being demanded from them. The work of checking the hospitals will continue on a regular basis. Feedback is being taken from patients during and after treatment.

After examining the cases in 12 districts, micro-examination and audit of 84 suspected hospitals has been undertaken by Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Madhya Pradesh, in which initial investigation has shown irregularities in 27 hospitals.

Action is being taken on these.
