First mobile app to monitor schools development in Balaghat

Bhopal: Modern resources, technique and internet are being used in the state to monitor teaching and other arrangements in government schools. Balaghat district in the state has stepped ahead in this respect. On the initiative of district collector Shri V. Kiran Gopal, a new app “Shala Darpan” for android mobiles has been developed. Through it, officers are monitoring teaching arrangements in high and higher secondary schools. With this, Balaghat district has become first district to make such arrangements.

The app can be downloaded on android mobile through “Google Play Store”. Following download, button of registration should be pressed. In it, concerning officer should feed his name, post and mobile number. After feeding information, the mobile number will be registered on the website of district office against which high or higher secondary school will be allotted. Apart from his routine works, concerning officer will have to undertake random exercise of pressing button of “Present, Absent or Out of School” against names of teachers. On the mobile app, concerning officers will also have to fill information about enrollment number of students and distribution of amount for books, cycles and uniforms.

Inspection details cannot be filled from home

The app has been equipped with GPS so that officers cannot fill information from home. The app will also show as to from which place information has been feed. Along with inspection of school, concerning officer will also have to take one photograph of the school. Officer will click “upload” button to feed information collected during inspection, which will appear on website of district office. Along with analyzing information about inspection feed by officer on the website, efforts can also be made to remove lacunae. Along with regular attendance of teachers, teaching quality will also improve through this mobile app.

123 officers registered

The district has 221 high schools. So far, 123 officers have installed “School Darpan” software on their mobiles. On this basis, each of them has been allotted one school.
