FIR should be filed against Bhilai Mayor: BJP
BJP has sought filing of an FIR against Bhilai Mayor and MLA Devendra Yadav and condemned the action of both Mayor and Home Minister, who participated in an event on the spot where a fatal accident had taken place a few hours ago.
The BJP alleged that Mayor is directly responsible for the incident and an FIR should be registered against him. Deceased Ganesh Sen’s family should be given compensation of Rs 25 lakh while Shiv Sahu should be given adequate medical treatment and financial assistance.
BJP state spokesperson Sachchidanand Upasane said every Sunday at initiative of Mayor Devendra Yadav ‘Tafrih’ programme is organised, for which a stage was constructed on the middle of the road. As there were no streetlight at around 2.30 AM on intervening night of Sunday-Monday, Ganesh Sen and his friend Shivcharan Sahu while travelling on two-wheeler hit the stage leading to death of Sen while Sahu is in critical condition.
The height of insensitivity was that at 6.00 am Mayor Yadav and state home minister Tamradhwaj Sahu participated in the entertainment programme on the same spot, he added. Due to political pressure, police and administrative officials termed it as general road accident.
