Father Kills Teenage Daughter for Eloping with Man from Other Caste
In a case of honour killing, a teenage girl has been shot dead allegedly by her father in Chhattarpur for eloping with a married man belonging to other caste, said media report.
Police said that Munna Yadav was exasperated with his daughter Kalpanan (15) after she had eloped last month with a married man named Santlal Kewat, belonging to OBC community as Yadav but to different caste, reports said.
A resident of Simra near Chhatarpur, Yadav had brought his daughter back from Kewat’s place yesterday, said reports.
Police said that Yadav had heated arguments with Kalpana yesterday morning and he shot her dead, reports said.
Yadav told the police that he killed Kalpana because she had brought a ‘bad name’ to his family in the community, said reports.
He also told police that because of Kalpana, people would not marry his three other daughters, reports said.
Police said that Yadav has been arrested while one more person Ballu Kewat has been picked up in this connection, said reports.
