Farms to be linked with roads in every Gram Panchayat, 10 thousand km long roads to be constructed in 100 days

Bhopal: Cluster of farms will be linked with roads in every Gram Panchayat. Work on construction of 10 thousand km long roads will be started in next 100 days. This was informed during review of 100-day action plan of Rural Development Department at Mantralaya today. During discussions, CM Shri Chouhan said that linking farms with roads will be a revolutionary initiative. Due to it, not only farmers will be able to visit their fields and bring crops from there without difficulty, but the rural economy will also be strengthened.

For increasing food grains storage capacity in rural areas, 10,820 godowns will be constructed in 100 days. Rs. 120 crore will be provided to needy persons under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA in 100 days. Rs. 900 crore is available in districts for MNREGA works.

The Panchayat Department will construct 445 Haat Bazaars during next 100 days. The Chief Minister directed to accelerate pace of development. As many as 4000 works will be completed under Special Backward Area Development Grant Fund. Under Kapildhara sub-plan, 71 thousand 800 wells will be constructed by March 2014.

Directing to accelerate pace of toilets’ construction for eradicating habit of open-area defecation, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan instructed to attach top priority to it. It was informed that beginning will be made to recharge minimum one river in every district during 100 days. During review of Social Justice Department, it was informed that Samagra Smart Cards will be issued to all eligible beneficiaries for their social security.

During Cooperative Department’s review, it was informed that Madhya Pradesh is ahead of other states in producing seeds through seed cooperative societies. During next 100 days, 50 seed cooperative societies will be activated. For increasing storage capacity, godowns of 1000 MT capacity will be constructed at 12 places. Farmers will be provided Rs. 2000 crore cooperative loans. Farmers counselling centers will be set up in branches of District Cooperative Banks. About 4500 primary cooperative societies will be computerized. Common facility centres will also developed in them.

Rural Development, Panchayats & Cooperatives Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava, Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa and Principal Secretaries of concerning departments attended the meeting.
