families engaged in unclean occupations to get scholarships

Bhopal. The Scheduled Castes Welfare Department will give scholarships to 30 thousand students belonging to families engaged in unclean occupations this year. A provision of Rs. Eight crore has been made in departmental budget for these scholarships.
A sum of Rs. 7.50 crore was spent on these students last year. Besides, 30 Ashrams and hostels are also being run all over the state for education of students belonging to these sections. Besides scholarships, inmates of these hostels are also provided free books. The department has instructed district officers to take timely action on applications of these students so that they can get scholarships at the earliest this year.
