Engineers should work with dedication and strong willpower: Nagendra singh

Bhopal: Public Works Minister Shri Nagendra Singh has said that departmental engineers should work with dedication and strong willpower. He said that engineers with outstanding performance will be honoured while action will be taken against those neglecting work. Shri Singh was reviewing progress of Indore-Ujjain circle of the department today. Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Managing Director Shri Vivek Agrawal, Engineer-in-Chief Akhilesh Agrawal and other officers were present at the meeting.

The Minister stressed the need for constant monitoring of departmental works. If any problem is felt in carrying out work, then the government should be informed through senior officers. Circle-wise targets should be fixed for the works to be completed in next 6 months, he added.

Expressing displeasure over works’ progress in Ujjain circle, he directed the chief engineer to see circle’s works separately and wherever necessary, field spots should also be inspected. He said that strict action will be taken against the executive engineers not completing works under Plan head. Chief Engineer’s accountability will also be fixed.

Shri Singh directed that contractors doing bad work and not finishing projects in each division should be blacklisted and people should be informed about it through newspapers. Shri Singh said that tender process of works to be carried out during the new year should be completed till April 30 so that works can be started soon after end of the financial year.
