Education should teach human values: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that education should teach human values. Objective of education is to impart knowledge, skill and civic manners to students. The Chief Minister was addressing inaugural function of 2-day national workshop on new education policy here today.

The Chief Minister said that knowledge is unlimited and increasing constantly with research and explorations. Education imparts values, traditions, manners and ideology about life. There are differences between Western and Indian culture on what is perfect life. Western culture lays emphasis on materialistic bliss while Indian culture talks about happiness of body, heart, mind and soul. Education should help on live a perfect life. Human life becomes perfect only when one imbibes human values. He said that good teachings of all religious scriptures should be included in syllabus.

Presiding over the function, National President of Vidya Bharti Sansthan Dr. Govind Prasad Sharma said that education gives direction and influences to society. Education is the medium to take knowledge forward to next generation. Solutions to social problems are not found in existing syllabus. Progress of society is hindered when education does not create knowledge. Education builds individuals and nations. Education must be linked with cultural values. Institution’s National General Secretary Dr. Lalit Bihari Goswami, National Secretary Shri Avnish Bhatnagar and Shri Shiv Kumar Sharma were also present at the workshop organised by Vidya Bharti Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan.
