Earnest efforts for houses to police families

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that government is making earnest efforts to ensure that all police families are provided houses. New houses will continue to be constructed till this target is achieved. He said that 10 thousand new police houses will be constructed this year and 25 thousand in next 5 years. Shri Chouhan was addressing a function after dedicating 286 houses constructed for police personnel by Police Housing Corporation here today. Home and Jails Minister Shri Babulal Gaur was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that police duty is not a job, but a Dharma. When people celebrate festivals, police personnel patrol on roads to maintain peace. The police brings smiles to lives of people by ensuring law & order effectively. He said that new recruitments are being made continuously in the police. Strength of the force is increasing constantly. Efforts are on to ensure that police personnel get minimum one weekly off through rotation to enable them to spend quality time with their families. He also directed DGP to chalk out a scheme for this.

Shri Chouhan said that achievements of police in the state are laudable. The police have maintained Madhya Pradesh’s status as Island of Peace facing various challenges successfully. He said that police personnel work in adverse conditions. Dhyan and Yoga programmes should also be conducted to de-stress them.

He said that Madhya Pradesh is a fast-growing state. It is pioneer in growth rate in the country and stands first in the world in agriculture growth rate. The state has got Krishi Karman Award for consecutive 4 years.

DGP Shri Surendra Sinh informed about housing problems of police personnel and their solution. He informed that over Rs. 30 crore has been spent on these houses. MD of Police Housing Corporation Shri Sanjay Rana proposed a vote of thanks.

Chairman of Police Housing Corporation Shri Rishi Kumar Shukla, DG Home Guards Shri Maithilisharan Gupta, DG Jails Shri V.K. Singh, Special DGP Smt. Reena Mitra, larger number of police officers, employees and their family members were present on the occasion.
