e-Stamping and e-Registration mandatory in all Sub-Registrar offices from August 1
Bhopal: The state government has made e-Registration mandatory for purchase and sale of immovable properties and all documents requiring registration from August 1. All such documents will be only e-Stamped. Thus, from August 1 onwards only pre-printed stamps worth below Rs. 100 issued by treasury can be obtained for documents for which registration is not necessary.
Earlier, e-Registration was introduced as pilot project in 5 districts including Ujjain, Balaghat, Sehore, Anuppur and Tikamgarh from December 15, 2014. After removing hurdles in e-Registration software, the department has started e-Registration in all Sub-Registrar offices from July 1, 2015. But then it was not made mandatory and system of manual registry was continued simultaneously. So far, over 22 thousand e-Registrations have been made successfully in the state through which the government has received revenue of about Rs. 100 crore.
Through e-Registry, property is valued correctly and people are rid of middlemen. Besides, registry is obtained immediately with transparency.
