Digvijay stopped Baraiya from blackening his face: only applied black tilak

High political drama was seen in Bhopal on Thursday. Newly elected Congress MLA Phool Singh Baraiya left for Raj Bhavan to blacken his face. Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh stopped him on the way and did not allow him to blacken his face. Digvijay Singh fulfilled his promise by applying black tilak to Baraiya.

Later, Baraiya smeared black ink on EVM posters. He said, ‘We are blackening the face of EVM.’

Phool Singh Baraiya has won the MLA election from Bhander seat of Datia district. Before the elections, he had claimed that if BJP gets even 50 seats in Madhya Pradesh, he will blacken his face. In the assembly elections, BJP got 163 seats out of 230. Since then, Baraiya was being advised on social media to keep his promise.

Two days ago, Congress leader Baraiya had announced that he would blacken his face in front of the Raj Bhavan on December 7 at 2 pm. After which the capital police was already on alert. The police had made preparations to stop Baraiya by barricading in front of Roshanpura intersection. The road leading to Raj Bhavan was also closed.

On Wednesday, Kisan Congress leader Yogesh Dandotiya had blackened his face in support of Phool Singh Baraiya in Gwalior. In the press conference, he had said, ‘There is no need to blacken the face of our leader Phool Singh Baraiya, that is why I blackened my face.’

Phool Singh Baraiya was a strong leader of BSP two decades ago. He was also an MLA from BSP. While being the state president, he had an important role in establishing BSP in Madhya Pradesh. He was one of the most trusted people of BSP chief Mayawati.

Later, being angry with BSP, he joined Samata Samaj Party. After a few days, he also joined BJP. Later, when he got bored with BJP, he formed Bahujan Sangharsh Dal. After this he joined Congress.

In October 2003, Phool Singh Baraiya was in the news. Digvijay Singh was the Chief Minister of the state. Baraiya suddenly became the thorn in the eye of BSP chief Mayawati. Baraiya was coming in the way in his mission in MP. Mayawati first removed him from the post of state president. Accused of stealing important party documents. Police registered the case. He remained underground for five days. After this he launched his new party. Baraiya said that there is a threat to his life from Mayawati and Digvijay. He had said that Digvijay Singh and Mayawati have sent goons to his area. Threatening the supporters.

Haryana Home Minister Vij said – Congress’s face has long been blackened.

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij took a dig at Congress over the protest by Phool Singh Baraiya. In Ambala, he said, ‘They (Congress) have been blackened for a long time, but they have only now come to understand.’ Vij said that the work they (Congress) have done in independent India is only going to bring disgrace.
