Digvijay Singh: It’s time for politicians my age to retire

Guna/Bhopal: Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh has said politicians his age should retire from the political field.
Speaking at a function concluding Jaywardan’s second yatra, Singh said, “I think it is time that politicians of my age retire from politics and now the youth must come forward and take over.” He, however, said he will contest the next Lok Sabha elections if the party gives him the ticket. He added that there was no way in which he would contest the Assembly elections. Jaywardan is Digvijay’s son.
The Congress general secretary said the time has come for politicians of his age to retire from the field. Singh said that his son, Jayawardan would contest next year’s Assembly elections only if he gets the ticket for them. He further said the manner in which corruption had spread all over Madhya Pradesh during the last eight years of BJP rule could never had been dreamt of. Meanwhile, Singh alleged that the BJP was telling lies and taking credit for many schemes initiated by the Centre.

“There are any number of instances in which Chouhan has appropriated Central schemes as his own and taken credit for it,” Singh said. He expressed happiness over the yatra taken out by his son in the scorching summer and commended him over its completion.
