Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes will be included in SC-ST List: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes will be included in scheduled castes and scheduled tribe list. Identity card will be prepared for these people and facilities which are being provided to the people of backward and poor categories will be provided to them. CM Shri Chouhan was addressing the Training cum Convention of Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes at Dewas today. Minister of State for Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes (Independent Charge) Smt. Lalita Yadav, Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (Independent Charge) Shri Surendra Patwa, Minister of State for Technical Education (Independent Charge) Shri Deepak Joshi, MP Shri Manohar Oontwal, Chairman Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes Commission Shri Narayan Banjara were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that denotified tribes are wandering since centuries. Stop wandering around now, reside at one place take respectable employment, educate children and take up construction and creativity. Shri Chouhan further mentioned that the state government will provide all facilities for them like plots, financial assistance to build house, loan for self employment beside children’ education facility.

Today is Your Day

CM Shri Chouhan said that he has dedicated the day for the Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes. You are the guest and the state government is the host. You have honoured me by tying turban and I will not let down your respect and honour. Moreover, he mentioned that he will redress all their problems today. The state government is committed for your welfare. Efforts will be made for them to lead life with respect in society and to enable them to progress.

Educate Children, Expenses will be borne by State Government

Shri Chouhan said that the people of Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes should administer pledge today to educate children. Educational expenses will be borne by the state government. All kinds of facilities are being provided in the government schools. Lap top will be given on attaining 75 percent marks in 12th examination and smart phones will be provided in colleges. Coaching arrangements for I.A.S., I.P.S., doctors, engineer etc. will be arranged and the fee to pursue studies in premium institutes will be paid by the state government. Directives have been issued to the technical education department to make training arrangements of children in I.T. I.s for different trades. He informed that 140 hostels are functional for denotified tribes in the state. More hostels will be opened as need arises.

Identity Cards and All Facilities will be provided

Furthermore, Shri Chouhan said that identity cards will be prepared for them in all the districts. Directives are being given to all the Collectors in this regard to enable you to get facilities being provided to backward and poor category. Moreover, wheat, rice and salt at the rate of Re. 1 per k.g.. plot to build house, loan of Rs. One lakh 20 thousand to build house on plot and Rs. 12 thousand to construct toilet will be provided. Also loan with 15 percent subsidy for self employment will be given and 5 percent interest amount will be borne by the state government.

Financial Assistance on Calamity, Will be included in SC/ST/Backward Category

CM Shri Chouhan said that an amount of Rs. 2 lakh on accidental death, Rs. 4 lakh on death due to natural calamity and Rs. 25 thousand in aces of normal death will be provided. All the basic facilities like roads, water etc. will be provided by the government in settlements. He reiterated that Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes will not come under general tribes’ category; they will be included in SC/ST or Backward Class category. Shri Chouhan announced that chairman will be made in Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes Authority shortly and will be given minister’s level.

Administered 5 Pledges

CM Shri Chouhan administered 5 pledges to the members of the Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes. Not to commit crime, to quit addiction, to educate children, respect to girl child, to maintain cleanliness and to construct toilet in each house.

Laid Foundation Stone of 208 works and Dedicated 164 works

At the convention Shri Chouhan laid foundation stone of 208 works worth Rs. 19 crore 75 lakh 52 thousand and dedicated 164 development works worth Rs. 40 crore 89 lakh 5 thousand. He also honoured representatives of Denotified, Nomad and Semi Nomad Tribes. Also 200 beneficiaries of various schemes were benefited in the programme.

Mobile Shops to Disabled Persons

Moreover, Shri Chouhan presented mobile shops to the disabled beneficiaries. These shops are prepared in such a manner on tricycles to enable disabled to sell items conveniently. Under these special shops, Laxmi cutlery center and Arjun Fruit shop are the main attractions in the convention.

Inspected Exhibition in E-Rickshaw

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan distributed e-rickshaws to the beneficiaries under the Swarozgar yojna. He inspected the exhibition organized at the convention riding rickshaw of the beneficiary Bharat Sendhwa.
