Counting for last Lok Sabha elections was also held on May 16

Bhopal: It is a mere coincidence that counting for Lok Sabha elections 2014 will also be held on May 16 like Lok Sabha elections in year 2009. In year 2009, Lok Sabha elections in the state were held in 2 phases on April 23 and 30, respectively whereas elections in 2014 were held in 3 phases on April 10, 17 and 24, respectively. Counting for Lok Sabha elections in year 2004 was held on May 13 while elections were held in 2 phases on May 5 and 10, respectively.
The number of Lok Sabha seats was 40 in undivided Madhya Pradesh. The last 3 elections in undivided Madhya Pradesh were held in 1996 on May 2, 7 and 9, respectively and counting on May 9, in 1998 on February 22 and 28 respectively and counting on March 2 and in year 1999, Lok Sabha elections were held on September 11, 18 and 25 respectively and counting was held on October 6.
