Continue efforts to control swine flu and dengue

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed to continue efforts to control dengue and swine flu constantly. Drive to destroy larvae should be undertaken in all districts. The Chief Minister was reviewing situation of swine flu and dengue here today. It was informed that situation is under control in the state.

The Chief Minister said that awareness campaign for prevention of these diseases should also be continued unabated. Review should be undertaken at state level every day. Information about possible swine flu patients should be given immediately. Strict action should be taken in cases of negligence in prevention of diseases. Government and private health institutions should work with coordination towards prevention of these diseases. Patients should not be admitted in the hospitals which do not have all required facilities.

The meeting was informed that samples of 62 out of 294 patients of swine have tested positive. At present, 25 patients are being treated in hospitals. In the state, one lakh 36 temiflu tablets are available and 2 lakh will arrive next week. Swine flu treatment facility is available in all district hospitals, primary and community health centres and 59 private hospitals. Government medical colleges have 20 ventilators and 30 new ventilators are being purchased. In September, 530 patients were examined out of which 61 were found positive and are being treated. At present, 15 patients are hospitalized. For larvae survey, 2 lakh 4 thousand houses have been inspected in the state.

Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, Principal Secretary Medical Education Shri Vinod Semwal, Health Commissioner Shri Pankaj Agrawal, Secretary to CM Shri Hari Rajan Rao and representatives of government and private health institutions attended the meeting.
