‘Congress misleading Muslims and Dalits’

nSenior BJP leader and Union Minister for Transport Nitin Gadkari had accused the Congress of misleading the voters.

“It’s (the Congress) misleading the Muslims and Dalits by spreading fear that if BJP comes to power again the Muslims will be sent to Pakistan. To mislead the Dalits, it is claiming that the Constitution is in danger,” the Union minister said.

Gadkari was addressing a public meeting at government high school ground here on Friday to campaign for the BJP’s Raigarh Lok Sabha constituency candidate Gomti Sai.

At the rally, Gadkari also hit out at Nyuntam Aay Yojana (NYAY) of the Congress. Right from the period of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, the Congress had been giving this slogan of ‘garibi hatao,’ he said.

Even after the party ruled the country for 50 years, it failed to alleviate poverty and now Rahul (Gandhi) had come up with the NYAY scheme for the same purpose, without any proper planning.

“From where they will get money to distribute Rs 72000 to poor families is not clear in their manifesto,” Gadkari said, terming the NYAY a false promise. It was just a ‘pack of lies,’ he added.

Gadkari who is also minister for river development and conservation of Ganga also mocked the recent Ganga Yatra of the Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from Prayagraj to Varanasi, claiming it was due to the efforts of his ministry the water of the river was purified to a great extent.

On achievements of his ministry, he claimed that during the Congress regime two kilometers of road were laid per day but during the tenure of the BJP government it was increased to 35 kilometers per day. The national highways are being prepared with concrete cement so that they last longer and serve even the coming generations, he said.

Union Minister Vishnudev Sai, Rajya Sabha member Ranvijay Singh Judev and other senior BJP leaders of the state were present on the occasion.
