CM will go on hunger strike, relief provided by Center is not sufficient

GUNA (PTI): On Friday Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told that Rs 425 crore relief packages allotted from the Centre for farmers in Madhya Pradesh inadequete and said he will not change his plan to go on a hunger strike in New Delhi from February 13.

CM told reporters, “We had sought a Rs 2400 crore package for the farmers whose crops have been damaged due to the frost and cold wave conditions.”

“We want more money from the Centre for the farmers,” he said, adding he will still go on a hunger strike to press for adequate package.

Chouhan said the state wants to set up special courts to deal with corruption cases and a bill in this regard would be introduced in the budget session.

Under the proposed law, Chouhan said, courts will be empowered to hear cases even against the Chief Minister or the Chief Secretary and judgements would be pronounced within a year.
