Restrictions on public activities relaxed in Raipur

The Raipur district Collector on Thursday further relaxed the restrictions imposed on public activities due to improvement in the Covid-19 situation.

An order issued by Collector and Magistrate Saurabh Kumar states that there has been a fall in Covid-19 positive cases across the district.

Considering this, now eateries (dhaba, bakeries, food courts and other food related establishments) can operate till midnight.

The ‘dhabas’ on National Highway outside the urban limits can operate for trucks, buses and other transport vehicles beyond midnight, an official communication said.

The revised order, however, prohibits all types of dharnas, rallies and processions in Raipur district.

In case of religious, sports, cultural and other social programmes (marriage and ‘Dashgatra’), library, cinema halls, malls and other public events, 50 percent of the maximum capacity will be allowed at the venues.

But if the guests exceed 200 or more, then permission has to be sought from the nearest police station or at the district level.

Passengers arriving from foreign countries need to intimate the administration about their arrival.

All business establishment operators, employees and customers will be required to use masks during business. All businessmen must keep masks an sanitizer for sale in their shops.

Legal action will follow in case of violation and if people refuse to pay fine.
