CM leaving for foreign tour from Mumbai today

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan is leaving Mumbai on September 29 late night for New York for his foreign visit. Shri Chouhan will reach Mumbai from Bhopal at 4.30 pm and from there leave for New York at 1.30 pm (intervening night of September 29-30).

During his visit to the United States of America, Shri Chouhan will participate in a World Bank programme. During the visit, the Chief Minister will meet Asian countries’ experts on possibilities of investments in Madhya Pradesh and hold discussions with industry leaders. He will throw light on works being undertaken in Madhya Pradesh in agriculture, industries and infrastructure sectors especially women’s empowerment.

As per schedule, after leaving Mumbai Shri Chouhan will reach New York at about 8 pm on September 30 after an 18-hair air travel. The same night, he will leave New York and reach Washington at about 12 midnight.

The next day i.e. October 1, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan will participate in a number of programmes in Washington. He will participate in a programme where he will be felicitated by the World Bank. Later, he will have a meeting with World Bank experts of Asian countries and discuss Madhya Pradesh’s development projects and future strategy. This meeting will be attended by exerts of health, education, social security, sanitation and drinking water, rural and urban development, transport and other sectors. The Chief Minister will also hold one-to-one meeting with some other key authorities of the World Bank. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan will participate in a programme to be held in his honour in the evening by Indian Embassy in Washington.

On October 2, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan will give a presentation on direct access to works pertaining to women’s empowerment and their socio-economic upliftment in Madhya Pradesh at Hoover Institute of Stanford University. The same day, Shri Chouhan will discuss Madhya Pradesh’s infrastructure development, alternative energy, health, education, urban infrastructure etc with IFC representatives and discuss issues of financial cooperation with World Bank and IFC.

The same evening, the Chief Minister will address a programme focusing on investment potential in Madhya Pradesh at USIBC. Open discussions between participants and question-answer sessions have also been planned at the programme. He will also hold meetings with heads of US universities.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to meet Indian NRIs and journalists on October 3. The same day, the Chief Minister will participate in other programmes to be fixed locally.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan will leave Washington on October 4 at 1 pm to reach Detroit Metro, where Michigan Lt. Governor will host a dinner in his honour.

On October 5, the Chief Minister will address a programme at Ross Business School. He will also visit Michigan University and hold discussions with Michigan’s industry leaders.

The Chief Minister will reach Chicago on October 6 and visit Vivekananda Memorial. He will also meet members of Indian community over there.

During the final phase of this journey, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will leave Ohre international airport in Chicago on October 7 at 1.30 pm and reach Delhi next day at about 3 o’clock on October 8.
