Children going for picnic lost their lives

UJJAIN: Six persons died when a bus carrying school children to Mandu for picnic fell into a ditch near Khachrod in Ujjain district.

Three children and three elders lost their lives.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed grief over the accident, announced assistance worth Rs. one lakh each to kin of deceased.

On receiving news, Collector Dr. M. Gita rushed a team of the district administration to the spot with instructions to ensure necessary arrangement.

The Collector informed that the deceased included 10-year-old Neha, daughter of Zakir, 14-year-old Sunil, son of Bharatlal, 12-year-old Shajapur resident Shivam Rawal who was the son of school director Shri Vijay Saxena’s friend and Khachrod’s 45-year-old confectioner Shri Kailashchandra Parmar, 50-year-old confectioner Smt. Chanda Bai, wife of Jagdish and watchman Kaluram, son of Nanuram.

After the incident, Ujjain collector has been in constant contact with the Collectors of Indore and Dhar and the officers’ team sent to the hospital.
