Chief Minister unveils statue of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia at Murar

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that girls will be empowered both politically and financially under women’s empowerment programme in the state. For this, girls gill be provided loans upto Rs.25 lakh for stating self-employment, whose bank guarantee will be given by the State Government. Shri Chouhan was unveiling a statue of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia and laying foundation stone of administrative block of college at Murar today.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that it is imperative for women to be financially and socially strong for their empowerment. He said that a scheme has been chalked out to make girls strong financially, which will be launched in entire state from April 1, 2013. He said that half of elected posts in various institutions have been reserved for women in the state with a view to empowering them politically.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there is no dearth of talent in girls in the state. Recalling state’s history, Shri Chouhan cited the examples of Veerangana Laxmi Bai and Sister Nivedita. Shri Chouhan said that despite being born in a royal family, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia set a precedent in society by becoming Lokmata in the larger interests of common people. On college girls’ demand, the Chief Minister directed to chalk out a DPR again for construction of a sports complex in the college.
Member of Parliament from Morena and State BJP President Shri Narendra Singh Tomar presided over the programme . Health Minister and In-charge of district Dr. Narottam Mishra, Medical Education Minister Shri Anoop Mishra, Minister of State for Home Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha, Rajya Sabha Member Smt. Maya Singh, Mayor Smt. Sameeksha Guta were present on the occasion.
