C’garh turned into crime hub from peace island: BJP

BJP senior leader and former minister Brijmohan Agrawal said ‘island of peace’, (Chhattisgarh) has now become a ‘’crime hub’ as law and order in the state has deteriorated to such an extent that now even broad daylight murder is taking place in Chhattisgarh.

Citing the double murder of girls under Tikrapara police station limits on Tuesday, he said, addressing the media, on one side farmers are agitating over paddy procurement while on the other there is rising crime, particularly against women.

He listed out different incidents occurred across the state where girls were raped, burnt and murdered. He said in Tikrapra incident, also the girl had approached the police station raising suspicion of imminent attack but the police did not react to it, leading to double murder. The police will now naturally deny it, he pointed out.

Criticising the police and administration, he said, from Inspector General to Station House Officer is being used as ‘pack of cards’ due to which they are even unable to recognise what is their duty.

After sand mafia, now new mafias are emerging in the state in the form of coal and liquor syndicates, the former minister alleged.

The middlemen in liquor business have become active in rural areas once again which was eliminated by the BJP government, he claimed.

Replying to a query on future course of action, Agrawal said already people are agitated and if BJP launches agitation, it would create further breakdown of law and order. People will give befitting reply in upcoming polls, he added.

A fact finding team of BJP, BJYM president Vijay Sharma, Pooja Vidhani, Anurag Agrawal and Vibha Awasthi has been constituted which will visit sites of recent crime incidents and submit report to the state government for action, he said.
