Cell to be constituted to solve ex-servicemen’s problems: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a separate cell will be constituted in the state to solve problems of ex-servicemen, which will be headed by a minister. The state government will organise ex-servicemen’s convention every year. The Chief Minister announced this while addressing an ex-servicemen’s rally at 3 EME Centre Bairagarh here today. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Indian army is one of the best in the world. We are proud of it. Our soldiers guard the country braving difficult conditions on borders. The state government has launched Maa Tujhe Pranam Yojana to create spirit of patriotism among youths and exposing them to the conditions under which our soldiers work at borders. Army also serves the people in times of peace. A Shaurya Smarak is being constructed in Madhya Pradesh to perpetuate memories of martyred soldiers. In it, lore of bravery of martyred soldiers before and after independence will be displayed. Scheme to accommodate ex-servicemen in police and other services will be further strengthened in Madhya Pradesh. He announced to allot land for ex-servicemen’s housing scheme near Singarcholi in Bhopal, hostel for ex-servicemen’s children and if required for old age home of ex-servicemen. Commanding-in-Chief Southern Command Lt. Gen. Shri Ashok Singh said that this rally has been organised to solve problems of ex-servicemen. Central Government has taken decision of one rank-one pension. This will benefit ex-servicemen a lot. It has also been decided to construct National War Memorial near India Gate in New Delhi. Indian Army is constructing an old age home for ex-servicemen. Pension adalats are also being held for ex-servicemen. Army Placement Board has been constituted for their rehabilitation. Ex-servicemen’s rally will be held at Gwalior on November 22. On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan and Lt. Gen. Shri Ashok Singh felicitated gallant soldiers’ families including late Captain Devashish Gupta, late Major Ajay Kumar, late Capt. Shreyas Gandhi, late Major Joy Joseph, late Craftsman Shriram Swaroop and Signalman late Shri Ramesh Kumar. They also felicitated 9 gallant soldiers of 1965 war. As a token, scholarship for ex-servicemen’s children was given away to 2 girl students and 2 disabled ex-servicemen were provided tri-scooters. Lt. Gen. R.V. Kanitkar, Maj. Gen. Shri Kariappa, other senior Army officers, Principal Secretary Home Shri B.P. Singh and large number of ex-servicemen were present on the occasion.
