Cash and material to be checked at various airports under revised standard norms

Bhopal: Chief Electoral Officer Shri Jaideep Govind chaired a meeting the other day on revised standard norms for checking cash and kind in aircrafts and helicopters at state hangar and airport.

It was directed at the meeting that standard norms should be observed during checking of private and government aircrafts and helicopters as per directives of Election Commission. As per commission’ directive, VVIPs and officers exempted from these norms can enter and exit. All other passengers and their luggage will come from main gate of airport. At the meeting, officers were directed to ensure compliance of directives issued on September 4, 2008 by Civil Aviation Security Bureau regarding exemption given to VIPs and officers.

Directives were given to present daily report to state’s nodal officer of Airport Authority of India regarding landing of aircrafts at airstrips and helipads. Checking agencies were directed to behave courteously with passengers.

It was also directed that passengers should carry with them necessary documents like ATM slip, passbook and bills of cash and valuable things.
