Bhopal to have Pharma Park: Ananth Kumar

Bhopal: Union Minister for Fertilisers, Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Shri Ananth Kumar has said that a Pharma Park will be established at Bhopal. He hoped that Madhya Pradesh will become the first state in the country to produce medical devices. Shri Ananth Kumar was addressing the inaugural session of 6th International Eco Course and Workshop here today. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that lesson on lifestyle will be included in school syllabus from next academic session.

Union Minister Shri Ananth Kumar said that a lot of diseases are related to lifestyle. Therefore, lifestyle should be taught in courses. He said that in Madhya Pradesh health services are being conducted as per norms of World Health Organisation for improving health facilities. He held lifestyle responsible also for heart diseases. He said that bad lifestyle causes diabetes in turn leading to heart problems. Currently, there are 8 crore diabetes patients in the country. As many as 350 persons die of heart failure every hour. To prevent this, attention should be paid to awareness and treatment. Due to present-day lifestyle this disease is caused in tender age also. In the course of lifestyle, information should also be given about prevention, awareness and treatment. Yoga, exercise, discipline and food habits should be included in it. Cardiac emergency arrangements should be made from tahsil to primary health centre level. He said that eco machine should be available at every district headquarters.

On Union Minister Shri Kumar’s suggestions, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that a course on better lifestyle will be introduced in Madhya Pradesh from next academic session. He said that major health institutions will be encouraged to come to Madhya Pradesh. Healthcare will be focused in the Global Investors Summit to be held in October. He said that body is necessary to perform all duties and responsibilities. Therefore, it should be fit. Eco cardiography is boon for humanity. Heart check-up must be made regularly. Rajya Beemari Sahayata Kosh has been constituted for treatment of poor people in the state.

Health Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra said that novel schemes like Mukhyamantri Bal Hriday Yojana have been launched in the state. Free medicines are distributed to about 4 lakh people and free medical tests conducted of 75 thousand patients daily in government hospitals in the state. Rate of institutional delivery in the state has risen from 22 to 86 percent. Ambulance 108 Service is benefiting 81 thousand every month. Eminent international level cardiologist Dr. Naveen C. Nanda, said that Madhya Pradesh is doing excellently well in healthcare sector. Eco cardiology expert Dr. I.V. Vijaylaxmi said that heart treatment centres of children should be established in Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Pankaj Manoria informed about the workshop and Dr. P.C. Manoria delivered the welcome address.

Union Minister Shri Ananth Kumar and Chief Minister Shri Chouhan conferred lifetime achievement awards to Dr. Naveen C. Nanda and Dr. I.V. Vijaylaxmi. Awards for Excellence were given away to Dr. Sanjay Mittal and Dr. Sameer Shrivastava and special award was conferred to Dr. Shantunu Sen. Revenue Minister Shri Rampal Singh, MP Shri Alok Sanjar, DR. S.K. Parashar and other doctors from various parts of the country were present on the occasion.
