Bhopal roads to be improved under Mukhyamantri Adhosanrachna Yojna

Bhopal: All roads in Bhopal city will be improved on a large-scale under the Mukhyamantri Adhosanrachna Yojna. Drains along roads will be freed from encroachments. Kolar drinking water system will be linked with the piped water scheme of Bhopal City. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed that no comprise should be made on quality. Construction will be examined in case of apprehension of irregularities.
Shri Chouhan was reviewing progress of works in Bhopal city in the series of review of development works in major cities of the state. Shri Chouhan directed that a comprehensive scheme should be proposed for conservation and beautification of Bhopal’s Upper Lake. At the meeting, progress of Bhopal city’s drinking water arrangements, urban transport, sewage outflow, sanitation, solid waste management, lake conservation, welfare works for the poor etc. were reviewed.
Former Chief Minister and local MP Shri Kailash Joshi, Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur, in-charge Minister of Bhopal district and Water Resources Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya, Home Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta, Minister of State for Urban Administration & Development Shri Manohar Untwal, Mayor Smt. Krishna Gaur, MLAs Shri Jitendra Daga, Shri Dhruvnarayan Singh, Shri Vishwas Sarang, Bhopal Development Authority Chairman Shri Surendranath Singh and Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram were also present at the meeting.
Shri Chouhan directed that arrangement of public transport should be made between bus stands of the city and the railway station. Construction agencies for constructing roads in urban areas should also construct drains along the roads. He said that he will take stock of roads’ condition by touring the city in May and August. He directed to institute enquiry into complaints regarding payment to contractors in some areas without construction of drains and construction of poor quality roads.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed to undertake monitoring by forming joint squad of the revenue administration and the municipal corporation for preventing encroachments in Upper Lake. He said that people coming to the city in search of employment should be provided accommodation. Provisions for arrangements of accommodations to labourers should be effectively implemented by construction agencies apart from hiring building for Rein Basera.
It was informed that country’s first Shaurya Smarak at Bhopal will be completed within three months. Road has been constructed from Nadra Bus Stand upto Chhola Road Railway Crossing. Directives were given to construct it upto Karond Crossing. The completed works include construction and widening of eigh roads including roads from Kolar Crossing upto Gulmohar, SOS Children’s Village upto Raisen Road and cement concrete road in Karond ward. Construction of Bhadbhada-Sehore Road, Kerwa Dam-Kaliyasote Dam Road, Bharat Nagar Canal –Bawadiya Kalan Railway Crossing Road, Indore-Bhopal Main Road to Bairgarh Kalan Road, Piplani B-Sector to Khajuri Kalan Bypass Road will be completed by June this year.
At the meeting, a proposal was put up to improve road from Neelbarh Mughaliya Chhap to Intkheri-Khajuri Road with a view to linking Indore Road with Bhadbhada-Bilqisganj Road. Information was alson given at the meeting about redensification proposals for Shahjahandabad-based Ramnagar, Pari Bazaar and Bara Mahal and TT Nagar. It was informed that under the proposed redensification of old area, 460 quarters of F to I Type and old age home will be constructed. This will vacate about five hectare land. Similarly, about three thousand houses will be constructed in TT Nagar. This will vacate 45 acre land. Apart from handing over built houses, the investor will also have to pay cash amount to the government. Tenders will be invited for investment-related decision.
At the meeting, information was given about discussions with the Union Health Minister for improving arrangements at Bhopal Memorial Hospital. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that new schemes should be proposed after discussing all points of urban development like residential area, transport etc. keeping in view Bhopal city’s requirements for next 15 years. The Chief Minister said that he will make overall review of Bhopal city’s development once again soon.
Principal Secretary Urban Administration Shri S.P.S. Parihar informed about various schemes. Commissioner Bhopal division Shri Praveen Garg presented compliance report in pursuance of Chief Minister’s directives.
