Be sensitive towards senior citizens: Government

Bhopal: State government has directed staff in government offices, police stations and hospitals to be sensitive towards senior citizens. In this regard, General Administration Department has issued directives to Board of Revenue, Divisional Commissioners, heads of department, District Collectors and CEOs of Zila Panchayats.

The directives said that as far as possible, there should be seating arrangements for senior citizens. Their problems should be heard with attention and top priority should be attached to consider these problems sympathetically. Priority should also be given to senior citizens in distribution of medicine and other facilities in government hospitals. Immediate action should also be taken in cases pertaining to protection of their property, rent etc.
