Amount received from the disposal of unusable assets is being spent in the development works of same district

A meeting of the Board of Directors of Madhya Pradesh State Assets Management Company Limited was held in Mantralaya on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The first meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 19 May 2022.

In the meeting held today, deliberations were held on the proposals for sanctioning funds for necessary works in various districts under the District Incentive Scheme.

After the formation of this company in the state, there has been success in using many government assets by managing them.

Chouhan termed such efforts as commendable.

It was informed in the meeting that the Public Assets Management District Incentive Scheme has been started in the financial year 2022-23 to strengthen the infrastructure by supplying one-fourth of the amount received from the disposal of unusable public assets to the same district.

Discussions were held on the proposed works in various districts under the plan.

Major achievements

It was informed that till now 145 government unusable assets have been managed by the department, whose estimated value is Rs. 2500 crore.

In the current financial year, 65 assets were disposed off, the award value of which is Rs. 616 crore.

Proper use and management of the land freed from encroachment by the state government has been done.

This land is being used as green area and gardens in Katni, Indore, Balaghat, Khandwa and Sagar.

Management of the land is being done by developing the freed land as industrial cluster after disposal of plants and machineries of 13 closed down industries.

Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary of Public Asset Management Department Prateek Hajela, Chief General Manager of the company Pradeep Jain and other officers were present.
