Agriculture Growth Rate of State is Highest in Country because of Narmadas rich water

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Narmada river has its great contribution in development of Madhya Pradesh. Its water is being used for irrigation, power production, agriculture, and drinking water and other areas and new dimensions of development are being made. He said that agriculture growth rate of the state is the highest in the country only because of rich water of Narmada. He said that the accused breaching the modesty of the girls won’t be spared. Law will be framed for capital punishment to the accused and it will be sent for approval of the President.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing massive Jan-Samvad programme, after ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ – Seva Yatra, taken out from Omkareshwar Temple. Juna Akhara Swami Shri Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj, Member of Parliament Shri Nandkumar Singh Chouhan, Members of State Cabinet and Film Producer Shri Chandra Prakash Dwivedi were present in the programme.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Narmada Seva Yatra is for saving our life. He said that this river’s existence depends on plants. The river will continue if trees are there. Plantation campaign has been started at massive level to save the river. Omkar Parvat in famous Tirth place Omkareshwar will be made full of greenery by intensive plantation in July next. He appealed farmers to plant fruit-bearing trees both sides of the river. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that sewage treatment plants will be set up in cities located on the banks of Narmada so that the river can be saved from pollution. He said that ploythene bags will be prohibited in the sate from May ist. Also liquor shops will be closed down on Narmada River’s banks after March 31. Giving different aspects of Narmada Seva Yatra, he appealed people to extend their support.

Addressing the programme, Sar Sah Karyawah Shri Suresh Soni said that rivers would protect us if we save them. Rivers are like mother. They fulfill different needs of the life. Rivers have spiritual importance. Continuous flow of rivers is very necessary for life. He pointed out need of positive efforts for maintaining flow in the river especially in Narmada river. He appealed to maintain water purity and its sacredness. Lauding Narmada Seva Yatra, he said that the yatra is a medium for social change.

Swami Shri Awadheshanand Giri Maharaj said that ‘arpan’, ‘tarpan’ and ‘samarpan’ are core of Indian culture. Water has been given status of the God in our culture. We worship natural resources. Worshiping of tree is of special importance. Life is half without trees. Existence of rivers can be saved by protecting trees. He underlined a need of curbing pollution in rivers. He appealed for contributing metal for construction of giant statue of Aadiguru Shankaracharya to be installed in Omkareshwar.

Drive started for public contribution for statue of Aadiguru Shankarachrya Ji Maharaj

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today announced that giant statue of Aadiguru Shri Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj will be installed in Omkareshwar. Support to collect metal will be taken from every person for constructing the statue to be made of eight different metals. Any person can give a piece of metal as its contribution without any hesitation. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan first announced to give 11 kg copper in Jan Sanvad programme. Immediately after it, people showed huge response for contribution. Public representatives and other distinguished persons announced to give metal for the statue.

After the programme, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan reached Abhay Ghat situated on the banks of the river and performed Aarti with his wife amid chanting of Vaidik mantras.
