Agriculture Comes among Maximum Progressive Sectors of Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal. Under the remarkable leadership of the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the agriculture has transformed into the profitable occupation during the last 11 years. The agriculture production has gone up to 4 crore 23 lakh metric tonne from 2 crore 14 lakh metric tonne. Madhya Pradesh has bagged Krishi Karman Award continuously for four years and has registered maximum agriculture growth rate of 20 percent in the world. Moreover, state has become leader in bio-farming and achieved distinctions scripting altogether new definition of development in agriculture sector. This information was given at the Beneficiaries Training on Public Welfare Schemes programme held at Bhopal today. CM Shri Chouhan also distributed the symbolic certificates of Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme to the beneficiaries in the programme.

Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme is Best in the World

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that main challenges for the farmers are natural calamities like flood, drought and hailstorm etc. Prime Minister Crop Insurance Schemes has solution for all these farmers’ difficulties. This is the best crop insurance scheme of the world. Benefit sharecropper is also given beside farmers under this scheme taking into account agriculture field as unit. Compensation amount is also given if insured farmer could not sow their field due to natural calamity. There is Rs. 10 thousand premium for One lakh insured amount, Rs. 4 thousand each is paid by the Union and State government and Rs. 2 thousand is paid by the farmer. Only 2 percent premium sum for Kharif crop and 1 and half percent premium sum for Rabi crop is paid by the farmer.

In the film exhibited in the programme, farmer Shri Ghanshyam Dangi happily informed that he got Rs. 31 thousand as compensation towards damage to his crop and was saved from the loss. Also information on Balram Talab, Drip Irrigation, Large Irrigation Projects, Tube wells, Micro, Medium Irrigation Projects, Mrida Health Card etc. were given in the programme. Also, an amount of Rs. 4400 crore towards insurance compensation is being deposited in the bank accounts of the farmers of the state.

Union Minister of State Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, MPs, State’s Ministers, and farmers in large number were present in the programme.
