Afzal Guru’s execution a step in right direction but taken belatedly: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the step of hanging Afzal Guru, a convict of attack on Parliament, is belated but in the right direction.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that entire country is happy with the hanging of Afzal Guru. But the biggest question remains unanswered as to why so much delay was made in hanging the person convicted in terrorist attack on country’s apex institution like Parliament. India is a peace loving country, but a message needs to be sent that no compromise will be made with the country’s security and integrity. Country’s interests should be kept above all and terrorism should not be tolerated in any case, he added.
