A.R. Rahman to perform at state’s Foundation Day function

Bhopal: The musical performance of world-famous music director Shri A.R. Rahman and his team will be the main attraction of the Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day function here this year. Culture Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma laid the foundation of the stage at Lal Parade Ground. The stage is being made under the supervision of members of Shri Rahman’s team. Its height will be from 4 feet to 16 feet. Shri Rahman and 200 members of his troupe will perform for two and a half hours. The function will start at 6.30 pm on the Foundation Day November 1, 2012.

Culture Minister Shri Sharma informed that Krishnayan based on Shri Krishna’s Leelas will also be staged at the function. About 400 classical artistes of various Indian traditions will participate in it. He said that fireworks by Morani Brothers will be the second major attraction on the occasion.

LED screen is installed at MVM College

Culture Minister Shri Sharma informed that an LED screen will also be installed at MVM College ground for the people’s convenience. The people assembled over there will be able to see the events to be staged at Lal Parade Ground.

Half-day leave

Half-day leave will be declared in Bhopal city on the occasion of Foundation Day. This will enable officers and employees to enjoy the function with family. The Culture Minister informed that on behalf the Chief Minister, invitations will be sent to residents of Bhopal city to participate in the function.

Crossings to be also decorated

On the day of the function, major crossings in the city will be decorated like last year. Cooperation of the municipal corporation and social & cultural organisations will be sought in this work.
