6 arrested including 2 directors of Bansal Group in bribery: Bribe of Rs 20 lakh given to GM of NHAI; CBI also caught DGM

CBI has arrested six people, including the GM, DGM of NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) and two directors of Bhopal-based Bansal Construction Company on charges of bribery transaction of Rs 20 lakh. CBI has recovered Rs 1.10 crore including bribe amount. Bansal Group has many projects of NHAI.

According to the press release issued by CBI on Sunday night, bribes were being given for NOC and bills for road construction. Two directors of Bansal Group, Anil Bansal, Kunal Bansal and two other employees have been made accused in the case.

It is being told that the directors of Bansal Group were giving bribes to NHAI officials through their employees. CBI conducted searches at various offices and residences including Nagpur, Bhopal and Harda. During this, Rs 1.10 crore in cash along with objectionable documents, digital devices etc. were seized.

A company of Bansal Group also works in the construction sector. No statement has come from Bansal Group in this matter. Here, CBI officials in Bhopal refused to give any information regarding the case.

CBI caught after giving bribe amount

It is alleged that C. Krishna and Chhatar Singh, employees of Bansal Construction Works Limited, were in contact with Anil Kale, General Manager and Project Director, PIU, Nagpur of NHAI for payment of pending bills of Outer Ring Road Project of Lodhi Nagpur and for issuing project completion certificate. Were in contact.

The bribe amount to be given to project director Arvind Kale was Rs 25 lakh. Out of this, both the employees gave Rs 20 lakh to NHAI officers. CBI caught both of them after delivery of the bribe amount.
