50 thousand persons to be skilled by next year: Gupta

Bhopal : As many as 50 thousand persons will be skilled by next year in the state, said Higher and Technical Education Minister Umashankar Gupta at International Education and Skill Development Summit-2016 here today. Gupta said that a convention of students will be held in every district.

Gupta said that stress is being laid on quality education in the state. He said that meaning of quality education is that students get employment through it. Gupta said that degree alone is not guarantee of employment. For this, it is necessary to be skilled. He said that certificates after test will be given to artisans of traditional trades under Karigar Samriddhi Yojana. Gupta said that reading material at the Summit should also be in Hindi along with English.

Mayor Alok Sharma said that along with Smart City, Smart Education will also be imparted in Bhopal, which is heading towards becoming Digital City. He said that special attention is being paid to youths’ skill development.

Andy Burr, First Secretary, British High Commission in New Delhi said that constant efforts are being made to increase commerce and industry relations between Britain and India. He said that possibilities of collaboration with Madhya Pradesh in technical education will be considered. Andy Burr stressed the need to set up Centre for Excellence.
