39th Khajuraho Dance Festival from February 20 to 26

Bhopal: Khajuraho Dance Festival will be held at Khajuraho in Chhatarpur district from February 20 to 26. It will be the 39th festival. All dance performances will be presented at the festival after 7 pm. Culture Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma will inaugurate it. Member of Parliament Shri Jitendra Singh Bundela, Minister of State for Scheduled Castes Welfare Shri Harishankar Khatik and MLAs will also be present on the occasion. Entry will be free.
On the opening day, Sharmishtha Mukherjee and party will present Kathak, Dona Ganguly and Raughnath Das Odissi and Uma Namboodripad will present Bharat Natyam. The second day will be marked by Kathak performance by Tina Tambe, contemporary mix dance by Bridgette Shettiwar and Mom Chatterjee Ganguly and Odissi dance by Sharmila Biswas and party.
On the third day February 22, Anvesha Das will present Bharat Natyam, Poornashri Raut and Lucky Mohanty Odissi group dance and Venkat Vempati & party will present Kuchipudi. The fourth day will be marked by Bharat Natyam performance by Amrita Bevoor Sen, Kathak group dance by Hemant and Vaishali Panwar, Kuchipudi & Bharat Natyam by Ananda Shankar Jayant, Sneha Magpu, Kritika Varsha and Jinakraj and Kathak group dance by Shama Bhate & party.
On the fifth day of the festival February 24, Gopika Verma will present Bharat Natyam, Sarla Kumar and Perini Shriniwasan Rao Kuchipudi-Perini group dance and A. Laxmanaswami & party will present Bharat Natyam. The sixth day will be marked by group dance based on seven styles by Parvati Datta & group, Kathak by Shelja Nalwade, Kathak by Appukuttan Swarlayam and Bharat Natyam by Pratibha Prahlad & party. On the concluding day February 26, Nirupama and Rajendra will persent Kathak group dance, Aloka Kanoongo Odissi and Uma Dogra & party will present Kathak group dance.
At the festival, exhibition “Naipathya” focusing on journey of arts in Kerala, “Art-Mart”, a fair of fine arts and “Alankaran”, an exhibition of fine arts and prize distribution by Madhya Pradesh government will also be held.
