33 thousand appointments made against vacant backlog posts

Bhopal. Total 33 thousand 207 appointments have been made in the state against vacant backlog posts of scheduled castes, tribes and other backward classes categories in the state from the year 2002 to 2011 under special recruitment drive. The vacant posts filled up including 9,500 of scheduled castes, 18 thousand 346 of scheduled triblas and 5,361 of other backward classes. The State Government has decided to extend the period of Special recruitment drive for one year upto June 30, 2013.
Maximum 4,677 vacant backlog posts have been filled up in the Health & Family Welfare Department under Special recruitment drive in the last ten years followed by the Forest Department (4,617 posts), SC, ST Welfare Department (3,475), Medical Education (2,486), Higher Education (1,909), Home (police department) (1,656), Revenue (962), Agriculture (918) and 857 backlog posts have been filled up in the Animal Husbandry Department.
Under the Special recruitment drive, vacant backlog posts of SC, ST and OBC categories have also been filled up in other departments including 724 in School Education Department, 681 in Technical Education Department, 566 in Urban Administration and Development, 594 in Commercial Taxes, 450 in Panchayats & Rural Development, 372 in Housing & Environment, 362 in Economics and Statistics, 335 in Water Resources, 292 in Labour, 285 in Woman & Child Development, 251 in Horticulture & Food Processing, 246 in Public Works, 244 in General Administration, 232 in Fisheries, 199 in Jail and 144 vacant posts have been filled up in the Public Health Engineering Department.
