3 major schemes for common people to be implemented in MP
Bhopal: Three major schemes for welfare of common people are also going to be implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch the three Central schemes including Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojna at 6 pm on May 9 at Samanvay Bhawan. Minister of External Affairs Smt. Sushma Swaraj will also be present on the occasion.
Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana
This is risk cover for accidental death and full disability. It will be available to people in age group 18 to 70 years with saving bank account. If a person has accounts in various banks, he can participate in the scheme only through one bank account. Aadhar would be the primary KYC for the bank account.
Under the scheme, every member would deposit Rs. 12 premium per annum. In case of accidental death, next of the kin of the deceased will be given Rs. 2 lakh. In case of total and irrecoverable loss of both eyes or loss of use of both hands or feet or loss of sight in one eye and loss of use of hand or foot, Rs. 2 lakh will be given and Rs. one lakh will be given on total and irrecoverable loss of sight of once eye or loss of use of one hand or foot.
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana
All savings bank account holders in the age 18 to 50 years in participating banks will be entitled to join. Insurance cover will also be available under this scheme in case of death for any reason. Insured persons will have to deposit Rs. 330 per member per annum premium. Rs. 2 lakh is payable on member’s death due to any reason.
Atal Pension Yojana
The scheme has been introduced to provide assured income in old age to workers of unorganized sector. They will get pension benefit after 60 years of age. Pension ranging from Rs. one thousand to 5 thousand will be provided if a member contributes to the scheme between 18 and 40 years of age. Subscriptions will be different at various levels. It would be less if contributor joins the scheme early and more if joined belatedly.
